Course Title: Being a Maker: How to use a makerspace

Material Level: Introductory

Age Range: 12-18

Class Description: A little of everything! Learners in this program will learn the skills of being a maker by experiencing most of the tools in the makerspace. Each week will feature different tools, from 3D printers, to laser engravers, to sewing machines, to woodworking tools, and everything in between. By the end of this course, learners will know what most of the tools in a makerspace are and how they work.

Class Objective: Identify tools commonly used in a makerspace. Demonstrate use of select tools.

Location: Made New Makerspace, 5366 F Street

Dates: Mondays at 10am, March 7 – April 25

Classroom: The Office

Cost: $65 Tuition, $20 Materials
